How do I start using BitChats? +
Simply download the app from your device's app store and open it. No registration, phone number, or email required. You can start messaging immediately.
Is BitChats really secure? +
Yes! BitChats uses end-to-end encryption for private messages, has no central servers, and stores all data locally on your device. We don't collect any personal information.
How do I join or create a channel? +
Type /j #channelname in the message input field. If the channel exists, you'll join it. If not, you'll create a new channel with that name.
How do I send private messages? +
Tap on any username to open a private chat, or use the command /m @username message. All private messages are end-to-end encrypted.
Can I use BitChats without internet? +
Yes! BitChats works over Bluetooth and local WiFi networks. You can communicate with nearby users even without internet access.
How do I block unwanted users? +
Use /block @username to block a user from sending you messages. Use /block to see your blocked list, and /unblock @username to unblock someone.
What is the emergency wipe feature? +
Triple-tap on 'bitchats*' in the app header to instantly delete all your chat data. This is for emergency situations where you need to quickly clear your information.
How do I change the app language? +
Tap the globe icon in the app header to access language settings. BitChats is available in 15+ languages and will auto-detect your device language on first launch.
Is BitChats free? +
Yes, BitChats is completely free with no premium features, subscriptions, or hidden costs. We also don't show ads or sell your data.
What devices are supported? +
BitChats is available for iOS (12.0+) and Android (6.0+). It works on phones, tablets, and supports cross-platform communication.

Troubleshooting

🔌 Connection Issues

Problem: Can't see other users or messages
Solution: Ensure Bluetooth and WiFi are enabled. Check that you're on the same network as other users.

💬 Messages Not Sending

Problem: Messages appear but don't reach others
Solution: Check network connectivity. Try rejoining the channel with /j #channelname.

🔒 Private Messages Not Working

Problem: Can't send or receive private messages
Solution: Ensure the user is online and not blocked. Try using /m @username message command.

🌍 Language Issues

Problem: App showing wrong language or strange text
Solution: Tap the globe icon and select your preferred language from the list.

📱 App Crashes

Problem: App closes unexpectedly
Solution: Restart the app. If problem persists, reinstall from app store or contact support.

⚙️ Commands Not Working

Problem: Slash commands don't work
Solution: Ensure you're typing commands correctly (e.g., /j #channel). Commands are case-sensitive.
